Spring !
Well spring is finally on its way! In fact the first day of spring is on Friday- March 20th-. Spring for me means gardening, or rather getting my garden cleaned up and planned out after the long winter. I am definitely ready to get started. I feel as though I have been planning my garden all winter. I have all of these plans in my head and even a few jotted down in my notebook, and I am excited to start. This year I will be adding two large vegetable areas. I have grown a few veggies in the past two years; things like tomatoes, mini watermelons, pumpkins and even bell peppers, but this year I plan to do so much more! I already have everything from cucumbers, squash, broccoli, tomatoes, onions, corn and more in the seed form right now and I have been trying to research and learn about how to grow everything while remaining pest free. I also want to use as little bug killing chemicals as possible because I would like to stay away from introducing poison into my families food.
First Picture is of the garden area behind our garage- this is what it looked like after two years of not taking care of it...
This second picture is when I was finally done with it, took alot of work but here is the finished product..
This next picture is when I first planted our seedlings, they had been growing indoors on our kitchen table for almost two weeks and then I moved them outside on to our porch for a week and finally put them into the garden..they are tiny so far..but they will so be corn, tomatoes, pepper, raspberry bush, rhubarb, zucchini, cucumbers, and snap peas.
Just another angle
our raspberry bush
The picture on top is a leaky bird bath that I just added potting soil to and ivy, morning glory, and clemis.
These are my porch gardens, The triangle shape is my snap pea climber
The garden is growing more and more each day! More pictures and updates soon to come!
